Hazbin Hotel's Creator Is Aware of Fans' Second Season Bingo Cards — And She Has Good News

The much-anticipated Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel launches on Prime Video this week, and fan speculation has been widespread.

Season 1 presents a large cast of personalities residing in the afterlife, sets them at odds accompanied by musical numbers about their clashes, and builds heated competitions and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel fan obsession.

The community's expectations for the new season vary widely, but certain themes recur frequently: Will a fan-favorite character escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the binding agreement affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Obviously, I don't make the show with audience demands specifically in mind," the showrunner commented recently. "However I feel like me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator reveals her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by the production companies, which finance the series.

That could imply viewers have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how quickly the new season progresses, and how much of what they're waiting for happens now.

"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some incredible disclosures, some really cool backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about season 2 — especially in the form of fan bingo cards.

"I've come across a couple people make a prediction grid about the new season," she mentions. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've already completed a few items, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
